Service Ministry

At St Patrick's College 'we value a school where we grow in awareness and respond to the needs of others in a spirit of service' (College Values Statement). We challenge our students to put their faith into action through the quality of their relationships, in giving and compassion and throughout their lives.

Enacting the College Mission, in conjunction with Catholic social teaching, ˴Ƭ is proud of its tradition of fostering social justice action.  St Mary of the Cross, MacKillop, herself, said “Never see a need without doing something about it”. Vital to this is the College’s ongoing relationship with St Vincent de Paul, which culminates each year in the delivery of over 40 Christmas Hampers to families in the Launceston region.

As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

— John 13:35

East Africa Ministry

˴Ƭ has enjoyed a partnership with Sion Secondary College, Tanzania, for over a decade. Through significant College events, such as East Africa Day and Lap It Up, students have learnt about Tanzanian life and raised much needed funds.  This relationship will cease at the end of 2018, as Sion Secondary College no longer require our financial support. This is a fantastic outcome and we look forward to forging a new relationship in 2019 and beyond.

House Ministry

Each of the four Houses raise awareness and money for a service organisation in our community, by running food stalls and activities. The Houses currently support the following charities:

  • MacKillop House - Smith Family
  • Nagle House - Holman Clinic
  • Rice House - Edmund Rice Camps
  • Tenison House - Gastroparesis
